Testimony from April 4, 2016 Raleigh "Moral Revival" service on the dehumanization of people who are immigrants

Below is a video testimony given at the "The Revival: Time for a Moral Revolution of Values" Raleigh  service on April 4, 2016. A summary transcript of the video follows:

Immigration reform is necessary to prevent the kidnappings, the violent crimes, and the murders of immigrants. Immigrants face these threats on a daily basis. Immigration is often not an act of preference, it is an act of survival. We are refugees of the global economy, U.S. foreign policy interests, and financial attempts to control natural resources across the globe. These forces contribute to the displacement of indigenous peoples. The "Land of Opportunity" moniker trumpeted in the U.S. cultural narrative is denied to those who are undocumented. Indeed, undocumented immigrants have been reduced to "things" - criminals and rapists - not people with hopes and aspirations. Families are separated daily. We are not just a pair of arms for the politicians and the rich to exploit and then cast off. We deserve a life of dignity and respect. Don't turn your backs on us.
